Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Full-Time Dreamer Project?

The Full-Time Dreamer Project is a creative experiment and consultancy designed for dreaming with purpose. It is to dream beyond the present in a time where doing so is at a premium.

Started in the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020, the project has the potential to evolve. It begins with envisioning the future with people and how to enact change from those futures we create. Initially these conversations will be released as a series of podcasts.

Where will go from there? Looks like I should do some futures thinking myself.

What is futures thinking?

Futures, or future studies, is defined by wikipedia as “the study of postulating possible, probable, and preferable futures and the worldviews and myths that underlie them.

I was quoted by the World Future Society on the futurist mindset:

“To me, a Futurist Mindset is to be the dreamer of dreams for the world. Whether it is the solver of problems futurist or the philosophical, abstract futurist, the core of each is a belief that there is a great potential within everyone and everything.

This does not always mean a naive, utopian outcome. Rather, it requires a firm understanding that everyone’s and everything’s max potential is not always available, including our own. It is our futurist duty to act as stewards of dreams, guiding the maximization of the potential we see.”

Are you sure you’re not the other Michael Valania?

I’ll let you be the judge.

I loved my Full-Time Dreamer Conversation with you, what can we do next?

Let’s talk! I am available to facilitate workshops, give presentations, write for your publication, talk with your team, collaborate on something creative, experiment with unusual formats…anything where we can dream and enact change.

How can I support The Full-Time Dreamer Project?

First of all, thank you so much for being so interested in this project that you want to support. Full-time dreaming is not an easy thing to grasp and for you to want to take a chance on it is awesome.

Of course there are many ways to support me in this project:

  1. Share the podcast with people. The more people who are interested in this podcast, the bigger our community of dreamers gets.
  1. Get someone to sign up for a Full-time Dreamer session to document their dreams. They may even make it on the show!
